Cherif Larbaoui
Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Detailed CV
Cherif Larbaoui is a UK-trained, HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), specialising in paediatric neurodevelopment, autism, sensory integration, and functional independence.
He holds a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, combining strong academic training with extensive clinical experience across NHS community paediatrics, specialist schools, and multidisciplinary diagnostic teams.
Cherif has significant expertise in supporting children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental profiles, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), sensory processing differences, and complex emotional and behavioural needs. His work is grounded in evidence-based, neuro-affirmative practice, ensuring that each child’s unique profile is understood and supported.
With extensive experience in specialist educational settings, Cherif delivers targeted interventions to support:
-
Emotional regulation and co-regulation strategies
-
Sensory integration and sensory processing needs
-
Fine and gross motor development
-
Self-care and daily living skills (ADLs)
-
Access to learning and school participation
He is particularly recognised for his ability to translate detailed clinical assessments into clear, practical, and functional recommendations that can be effectively implemented across home, school, and community environments—a key component in supporting EHCP processes and long-term outcomes.
Cherif is ADOS-2 trained and contributes to high-quality, multidisciplinary autism assessments aligned with NHS and NICE guidelines. His background in sports and exercise science further strengthens his clinical reasoning in areas such as postural control, motor planning, and regulation, enabling a more holistic understanding of each child’s developmental profile.
He is deeply committed to child-centred, strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals to ensure that children are not only supported but also empowered to thrive in all areas of life.
