Hacer Yıldırım is a highly experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist (OT) with over 15 years of expertise in autism, sensory integration, and developmental therapy. She provides evidence-based, child-centred interventions that help children and young people develop essential life skills, enhance sensory regulation, and improve their daily functioning.

After earning her BSc in Special Education from Marmara University (2009) and MSc in Educational Management and Planning from Yıldız Technical University (2012), Hacer worked for Turkey’s Ministry of National Education as a special-education teacher, administrator, and inspector. In 2014, she relocated to the UK, where she served as Deputy Manager in leading autism boarding schools before qualifying as an Occupational Therapist.

She completed a Pre-Registration Master’s in Occupational Therapy (with Honours) at Oxford Brookes University (2019), where her research focused on “The Use of Deep Pressure Therapy Approach Among Children with Autism.”

Hacer has extensive clinical experience across multiple NHS departments and specialist autism services, including:

Her specialist areas include sensory integration therapy, deep pressure therapy, early intervention, and behavioural support. She is also trained in ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), enabling her to contribute to multidisciplinary autism diagnostic assessments following NICE and NHS standards.Currently, Hacer is completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Sensory Integration Therapy at the University of Sheffield, while working part-time within the NHS and accepting private clients through Clinic Autism London.

 

She is a registered member of:

• Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

• Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)

 

Her additional certifications include Positive Behavioural Support (Coach), Music Therapy for Sensory Integration, Sexual Education for Children (Level 3-5, Oxford), Team Teach Training, Braille and Sign Language Education, and Small Steps Family Training Programme.
