Professor Ömer Geçici, MD MBBCh, MRCPsych, is a highly esteemed Adult Psychiatry Specialist with over 25 years of experience in both the NHS and the private sector. His prolific contributions to the field include over 100 scientific papers published in prestigious national and international academic journals and conferences.

Professor Geçici graduated from Cerrahpaşa Medical School in 1997 and completed his specialist training in 2002, earning his MD and becoming a Consultant in Mental Health and Disorders. He attained the titles of Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2011. Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Geçici has played a pivotal role in training future medical professionals, serving as both a clinician and faculty member at various medical schools.

Renowned for his expertise in addiction, mood disorders, and psychopharmacology, Professor Geçici has made significant advancements in addiction treatment. He was instrumental in founding and directing AMATEM (Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment Centre), where he led critical initiatives for many years. Additionally, Professor Geçici is recognised as one of the few psychiatric specialists in the UK with substantial experience in Adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

From 2017 to 2018, Professor Geçici served as a visiting professor at the University of Leicester. He is a member of the General Medical Council (GMC) and a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych).
